A Barrio

NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP

Although I developed strong attachment and caring for each and all the members in the Barrio, I tried very hard not to show it. It is not about me. I stayed neutral. For them, strength and motivation must come from the inside - self-induced, self-sufficient - not from the outside. I felt a very strong bond of friendship, and at the end it was necessary but emotionally difficult to part ways.

This book is not just about a Barrio. The dynamics in a family, in a group, in a neighborhood, are the same as in a nation and in the world, encompassing the battle between good and evil with conflicts and resolutions, and in confronting the enemy from within.

A Barrio is a microcosm of what we see in the world and its ideological warfare, this book is dedicated to the many individuals; Hispanics, Chinese, Native Americans Indians, Blacks, Anglos, and many others of diverse cultures who are not recorded in history, but who unobtrusively did the work that gave this Barrio and our world its proper existence by never giving up. From any cultural origin in and out of any Barrio, those who grow to become good, influential and productive citizens, constitute the real backbone of this country. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Also dedicated to those who by their research contributed to the recorded history of the good quality and value of life in the Barrio and in our human heritage. A pseudonym has been employed for this book for it is not about the writer.
