Then using the Dutch’s new developed ‘Investment Funds’, a creative, powerful financial tool at the time, that changed the trade networks in West Africa, initiated a trade (including black slaves) across the Atlantic Ocean going west, eclipsing the older previous trade (including white slaves) across the Sahara Desert, going east.
