- Stereotype: A widely held but oversimplified and generalized idea or image about a particular group of people.
- Implicit Bias: Unconscious or subconscious attitudes and beliefs that influence our perceptions and actions, often leading to unintentional discrimination.
- Microaggressions: Subtle, often unintentional acts or comments that belittle, demean, or stereotype individuals based on their race.
- Institutional Racism: Systemic patterns of discrimination and inequality within institutions (such as government, education, or business) that disproportionately affect certain racial or ethnic groups.
- Systemic Racism: Similar to institutional racism, this refers to the ways in which societal structures and systems perpetuate racial disparities and inequities.
- White Privilege: Unearned advantages and benefits that come with being perceived as white in a racially unequal society.
- Colorism: Discrimination or prejudice based on skin color, often within the same racial or ethnic group.
- Intersectionality: The idea that individuals experience discrimination and privilege based on the intersection of multiple social identities, such as race, gender, sexuality, and more.
- Hate Speech: Offensive language or expressions that promote violence, discrimination, or harm towards individuals or groups based on their race.
- Cultural Appropriation: The adoption or use of elements from another culture without proper understanding, respect, or acknowledgment, often perpetuating stereotypes.
- Ethnic Cleansing: The deliberate and systematic removal or extermination of an ethnic, racial, or religious group from a specific area or region.
- Implicit Racism: Unconscious bias and racism that influence attitudes and behaviors, even when individuals consciously believe in equality.
- Racial Profiling: Law enforcement or other authorities targeting individuals for investigation or enforcement actions based on their race or ethnicity.
- Segregation: The enforced separation of different racial groups, often resulting in unequal access to resources and opportunities.
